 Nehring, a long time supplier (since 1916) of copper and aluminum products to the utility market, has developed a standard for copper and aluminum tie wire exclusively for the utility market.

We call the product "Utility Grade" tie wire. The difference is the ease in tying down our wire vs. standard soft drawn wire. Standard soft drawn wire is typically supplied by building wire companies whose end user is a commercial/residential contractor. Their application does not require the dead soft annealed quality of the utility market. Nehring's tie wire is guaranteed to be dead soft annealed. This makes it easier for your linemen to tie down insulators on a hot line.

Accept no substitute, order Nehring's "Utility Grade" DSA tie wire. It will become your standard.

SPECIFICATION FOR  "UTILITY GRADE" DSA BARE COPPER:

Nehring "Utility Grade" DSA Bare Copper offers 15% greater elongation than standard Soft Drawn Bare Copper. On #4 and #6 AWG Soft Drawn Bare Copper, ASTM standards require a minimum of 30% elongation. Nehring’s "Utility Grade" DSA calls for a minimum of 35% elongation. Therefore, flexibility is greatly increased. Nehring furnace anneals our tie wire to ensure that it is "Dead Soft". In-line annealing will not normally allow for the required values to be considered dead soft.
