Tamaqua offers one of the world's most comprehensive lines of specialty wire and cable products for industrial applications as well as a diverse range of cables for specific markets, such as airport lighting, cable-in-duct, industrial power and control, irrigation, rail & transit, power generation and power utilities.

Tamaqua also specializes in the creation of new cable types to meet very demanding applications.

 Control Cable

Control cables suitable for AC or DC, dry or wet locations and can be installed in conduits, in troughs, aerially, direct buried or underground. Control cables are rated at 600V -1000V and are manufactured in sizes from #18 to #9 AWG. Other sizes are available.

Available insulations include PE/PVC (20-10), XLPE, PVC/nylon, EPR or a UV-stabilized PVC used in UVS metering cables. The insulation materials demonstrate excellent electrical properties and the jacket materials are resistant to most chemicals. The jacket options are PVC, CPE, PE, CSPE, neoprene or an ultraviolet-stabilized PVC used in UVS meter cable constructions. Consult the factory for specifics on the application of each material.

These cables can be manufactured in shielded and non-shielded versions. The shielding systems available are corrugated longitudinally-applied copper or aluminum tape, or helically- applied copper, aluminum/mylar tape or copper braid. If required for reinforcement of the jacket’s water blocking ability, the cable shield can be coated for tighter bonding to the outer jacket. For other shielding systems, please consult the factory

Power Cable

Single and multiconductor power cables suitable for AC or DC and in dry or wet locations. The cables can be installed in conduits, in troughs, aerially, direct buried or underground. The cables are rated at 600V-2000V and are manufactured in sizes from #8 AWG to 3/C 750 kcmil.

The insulation options available are XLPE, PE, PVC, thermoplastic and EPR. The jacket options are PVC, PE, CPE, CSPE or neoprene. The insulation materials demonstrate excellent electrical properties and the jacket materials are resistant to most chemicals. Consult the factory for specifics on the application of each material.

These cables can be manufactured in shielded and non-shielded versions. The shielding systems available are corrugated longitudinally-applied copper or aluminum tape, or helically- applied copper, aluminum/mylar tape or copper braid. If required for reinforcement of the jacket's water blocking ability, the cable shield can be a single or double-sided coated copper or aluminum tape. For other shielding systems, please consult the factory.

Tray Cable

These cables are UL 1277-rated Type TC for use in cable trays, direct burial, aerial or raceway installations. These cables pass the UL 1277 (70,000 btu/hr) flame test requirements and the ICEA T-29-520 (210,000 btu/hr) flame test. The cables are rated at 600V-2000V and are manufactured in sizes from #18 AWG to 3/C 750 kcmil.

EPR or XLPE (XHHW-2) insulated cables are rated for temperature of 90°C wet or dry. Other insulation options are PVC (THW 75°C wet or dry) or PVC/nylon (THHN/THWN 75°C wet, 90°C dry). The jacket options are PVC, CPE, CSPE, neoprene or a low smoke polyolefin. The insulation materials demonstrate excellent electrical properties and the jacketing materials are resistant to most chemicals. Consult the factory for specifics on the application of each material.

Tray cables can be manufactured in shielded and non-shielded versions. The shielding systems available are corrugated longitudinally-applied copper or aluminum tape, helically applied copper or aluminum/mylar tape or copper braid.

Type MC Cable

Superior mechanical protection is provided by either aluminum or galvanized steel armor which is interlocked and applied helically. These cables are UL 1569-rated Type MC for use in cable trays, direct burial, aerial, or raceway installations. These cables pass the UL 1277 (70,000 btu/hr) flame test and, when requested, can be constructed to pass the ICEA T-29- 520 (210,000 btu/hr) flame test. The cables are rated at 600V-2000V and are manufactured in sizes from #14 AWG to 3/C 750 kcmil.

EPR or XLPE (XHHW-2) insulated cables are rated for a temperature of 90°C wet or dry. The other insulation options are PVC (THW 75°C wet or dry) or PVC/nylon (THHN/THWN 75°C wet, 90°C dry). The jacket options are PVC, CPE or CSPE. The insulation materials demonstrate excellent electrical properties and the jacketing materials are resistant to most chemicals. Consult the factory for specifics on the application of each material.

Specialty cable options

Tamaqua Cable Products is a specialty and custom manufacturer supplying 600V to 5KV single and multiconductor cables for industrial, utility, residential, and OEM markets. Because of our efficiency and customer orientation, we are particularly capable at designing and supplying cables to meet particular needs dictated by application, environment, installation considerations or system design. Combine any of the following components to make the cable you require:

Cable sizes:  Multiconductor cables (2 to 50 conductors) manufactured in-house from #18 AWG to 4 conductor 500 kcmil or 3 conductor 750 kcmil with grounds.

Conductors: Broad range of bare and coated copper, solid to fine wire flexible stranding, #18 AWGthrough 1000 kcmil.

Insulations: Standard and special polyvinylchlorides (PVCs), ethylenepropylene rubber (EPR), crosslinkedpolyethylene (XLPE), PE/PVC and PVC/nylon.

Shield types:

• Helically-applied aluminum/polyester, bare or coated copper, or coated aluminum.

• Longitudinally-applied corrugated aluminum or copper shields, which can be coated for tighter bonding to the outer jacket (such as ALBOND®). These offer better longitudinal strength and cut-through resistance, a superior moisture barrier and an excellent grounding path.

• Bronze, bare or coated copper braid.

Jackets:

Polyethylene (PE), polyvinylchloride (PVC), chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), chlorosulfinated

polyethylene (CSPE), neoprene or low-smoke polyolefin

Armor: Galvanized steel or aluminum interlocked armor applied with or without jackets.
